Critique: Bikini guide

I think whoever wrote this article needs to get in touch with those who participate in spring
break.  A good portion of these are hideous design and out of touch with the younger style.  Here is the link to the original article:  http://shopping.yahoo.com/articles/yshoppingarticles/840/ultimate-bikini-guide-to-spring-break/

I do think there are a few gems in there, but they are few.  The L*Space Graphicana Le Chic Triangle Top  looks good, but I would prefer to see it offered in different colors.

The Marc by Marc Jacobs Cleo Mixed-Print Bandeau Top, is cute, but the bottoms don't look so great with the color patterns or the larger size.  The bottoms almost resemble boy's underwear.  The bottoms should be smaller to complement the top, much like the Lisa Marie Fernandez Bikini, but I don't agree with the pricing on this.  There are tons of other good brands out there that are cheaper and sexier.

As a fan of Billabong, I say you can't go wrong with these:  Billabong Kellie Bikini Top, and it's a hella good price.

The Diane von Furstenberg Delanira Print Bikini Top,is a good style and tried and true.  The price on the other hand...yeah no thanks.  You could easily buy an entire drawer full of Forever 21 Apples Bandeau Bikini Top,for the same price.  I just hope the color patterns vary enough to make up for the design posted in the article.  Regardless, the price makes a lack of selection in color worth it I suppose.  After all, remember who is the largest target audience for spring break.  Students.  Highschool students don't have a lot of cash to blow on things, and the same can be said for college students.  Especially the ones living off Ramen noodles and Little Caesars Pizza.

Some alternatives I would suggest include some outside the box companies.  The MMA community is known for shirts worn by guys that act like badasses while shopping at the mall.  However, they do offer decent alternatives at a reasonable price.

For example, Tapout offers several hot styles that you can walk away with under $40.  http://shop.tapout.com/swimsuits/index.php?v=women_swimsuits

H&M also has tons of selections that will easily cater to most tastes.  Plus they are really reasonably priced, much like the Forever 21 selections where you can buy several for the same price of one of the other companies listed in the review.

Plus H&M has a bad ass collection from The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo.  http://fashionista.com/2011/12/see-the-full-girl-with-the-dragon-tattoo-for-hm-collection/
